Alpha KT solar water heater has passed the ice ball test for hailstones 25mm in diameter.

How The Alpha KT solar water heater Collector Works
Each tube in the collector consists of two layers of borosilicate glass with a vacuum layer between them. The vacuum acts like a thermos flask, retaining up to 97% of the thermal energy, resulting in an increased efficiency.
The unique CPC reflector ensures that the sun's UV rays are fully reflected into the 47mm internal glass tubes. The tubes are coated with a highly efficient composition called CERMET which absorbs, stores and transfers heat. An aluminium fin within the tube transfers the heat into the copper U pipes that carry the heated water to your hot water cylinder.
